Each year, the National Yearbook Program designates a select number of schools in the United States to receive the National Yearbook Program of Excellence Award. There are rigorous standards to meet in order to qualify for the award, and it is only given to 250 programs throughout the country. Kinard’s yearbook student staff exceeded these standards for the 2011-12 school year with accomplishments in each criteria:
· A Meaningful Book for All Students in which more than 50% of students are covered in the book three times or more
· A Book in Every Student’s Hands with effectively reaching out to the student and parent community and resulting in more than 85% of students receiving a yearbook
· A Hassle-Free Experience where students responsibly met all scheduled deadlines with the yearbook company.
Kinard will be honored with a plaque and a banner to display at the school and is proud to recognize the outstanding efforts of the students who comprise the yearbook staff and their sponsor: Henry Bauerle, Jordyn Becker, Hannah Fenlason, Amber Harders, Allison Heckman, Ellie Helgaas, Taylor Hill, Iris McBeth, Kaley Kearns, Kelsey Morris, Haley Maestas, Kaylee Menefee, Samantha Myxter, Jordan Odstricil, Ryane Oswandel, Katie Otto, Maria Passantino, Kaitie Philavanh, Kassidy Powers, Brandon Richardson, Holly Ryan, Tristen Smith, Aliza Tinker, and sponsor, Alli Oswandel.
