Pre-Season Camp Information
- 7th Grade Camp - October 17th - 19th from 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm (OPTIONAL: Non-Evaluative)
- 8th Grade Camp - October 15th - 19th from 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm (OPTIONAL: Non-Evaluative)
Pre-season basketball camp will be held for any 7th and 8th grade students who are interested in trying out for the team. The detailed times for pre-season camp are listed above for each grade level. This camp provides student-athletes the opportunity to begin working on fundamental skills and helps athletes to prepare for the upcoming season at Kinard. This camp is not mandatory and participation in the camp will have no bearing on the athlete’s placement or playing time when the basketball season begins. The camp is designed to be a non-evaluatory experience that is free of charge. Any student-athlete participating in the pre-season camp must have an updated physical form on file with the front office PRIOR to participation in the camp (see below). If your son plans to participate in this camp, please print and complete the Pre-Season Camp Registration Form and submit it to the main office by Monday morning at 8:30am (10/15/18).
More Information
Basketball is a cut sport and each grade level will be comprised of 16 boys per grade level who compete on a varsity and a junior varsity team. Tryouts will take place during the first week of the season. Each player needs to provide gym shoes and workout clothes for practices. School uniforms are provided during competitions for use for the duration of the season. All participating athletes must be currently enrolled at Kinard and are required to complete the registration process and pay the $105 participation fee prior to joining the team. Please notify coaches of any medical needs that are specific to your child prior to the start of the season (i.e. asthma, etc.).
