About Me

Kaitlyn teaches Spanish 1B, Spanish 2, and Global Leadership at Kinard.  While at the University of Colorado, Kaitlyn studied Spanish, Italian, and broadcast journalism. After graduation, she worked for Land Information New Zealand in Wellington, New Zealand, for a year and then returned to Colorado for her master’s degree in educational leadership at Colorado State.  Kaitlyn leads high school summer trips abroad—exploring the mosques of Istanbul, hiking among ancient ruins in Athens, dancing flamenco in Madrid, trail running in Machu Picchu, paddling the Pacuare river in Costa Rica, skiing in Patagonia, and swimming with sea lions in the Galápagos Islands.  When she is not teaching Spanish or Global Leadership, Kaitlyn enjoys weekends full of snowboarding, climbing, and rafting with her husband Morgan.  In February of 2021, Kaitlyn and Morgan welcomed their first child - a sweet baby boy named Porter!  As a 10th year educator in PSD, Kaitlyn is excited for another year of learning with the Kinard Mustangs!
