Jacob Benson is a Physical Education and Health teacher at Kinard Core Knowledge Middle School. He has been a Mustang for 14 years, but has been teaching Health and Physical Education for 13 years. Before coming to Kinard, Jacob’s professional experience was a camp counselor as well as a student at Colorado State University. Jacob received his Bachelor's Degree in Speech Communication at Colorado State University, and he also went back to school and received a degree in Physical Education. During Jacob’s four years at CSU, he was on a Track and Field Scholarship where he was able to travel around the U.S. competing in the High, Long and Triple Jump. He continues his love for the sport by coaching Track and Field at Kinard. Outside of school, Jacob enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife Amanda. Amanda is also a teacher but is taking time off to stay home with their three sons Noah born March 1st 2011, and Identical Twins James and Caleb born February 22nd 2014. They have been happily married now for thirteen years. When Jacob is not teaching, he enjoys fly fishing, biking, hiking, rafting, four wheeling, snowmobiling, wake boarding, and almost anything outdoors especially if they are with his Golden Retriever, Jack. Jacob spent a week in Minnesota this summer with 35 Bensons fishing, wakeboarding, tubing, water skiing, etc..! He also had a wonderful trip with his family in Cabo Mexico. The Bensons really enjoy being together as a family!
