Leanne Griffey is the Orchestra Director at Kinard Core Knowledge Middle School. This is her 9th year as a Mustang and her 21st year as a music educator. Leanne’s professional experience includes 14 years of teaching Orchestra and Choir in various public schools in Greeley, Fort Collins, and Williamsburg, Virginia, as well as teaching private violin, viola, and voice lessons. Leanne received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Outside of school, Leanne enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband, Kevin, and their daughter. She has performed with many Orchestras including the Fort Collins Symphony, Cheyenne Symphony, and Richmond (VA) Symphony. Currently, she is Concertmaster for the Greeley Chamber Orchestra and performs with various string quartets. Leanne loves to ski, dance, hike, travel, and eat good food. She runs and strength trains so that she can enjoy all those things even more! Hobbies Leanne loves but rarely indulges in include knitting, scrapbooking, and studying French. Leanne considers herself very lucky to have been a PSD student and as such, to have learned from some of the finest music educators in the nation. Along with her mother and grandmother, these teachers shaped Leanne's passion for music and cultivated her desire to share it with the next generations of musicians!
