A Fort Collins native, Shelley Durkin, wears many hats as a mother, wife, educator, artist, and friend to many. She was raised in Fort Collins, Colorado where she attended Fort Collins High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education, with an emphasis in painting, from Colorado State University. Go Rams! She was lucky enough to study art abroad in Castiglion Fiorentino, Italy, and was able to travel to other countries including, France, Ireland, Austria, and Greece. Outside of school, Shelley, enjoys spending time with her husband, three children (4 year old and twin 1 year olds), and her two chihuahuas. Shelley and her family enjoy playing and watching all sports especially, their biggest love, the Denver Broncos. The Durkin family loves to camp, hike, and play all sorts of yard games. In addition to sports and nature, Shelley loves to paint, draw, and dabble in all sort of art mediums. Since a young child, Shelley's love for art and creativity was an obvious passion of hers.
