As a new member of the Mustang team, I am excited to collaborate and problem-solve with such a fine group of administrators, educators, and students. I am also looking forward to working with parents to achieve their children's personal and academic goals. I am deeply committed to learning along with my students, and strive to adopt a growth mindset in all that I do. I am inspired by the drive and ingenuity of young people, and their passion for creating a better world.
I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in English Education from Colorado State University. Here, I was given the opportunity to work with students across the Poudre School District. These educational and work experiences underscored the importance of research-based instruction, and emphasized pedagogical strategies that bolster student interest and engagement. I have spent time as an AVID tutor, and enjoyed coaching Odyssey of the Mind. My students are a shining light in my life.
I grew up in a tiny town in North Idaho, and have resided in Fort Collins for twenty years. I love living and working in this vibrant community. My husband, Jamey, and I have been married for six years. When I’m not working with students and their families, I love to be outside. I also enjoy cooking, geology, and modern art . Reading is an integral part of my life. I look forward to sharing with students how reading enriches our own lives, and gives us a better understanding of the experiences of others. Being an educator is a passion and a pleasure, and I am excited to be a part of the incredible community of learners here at Kinard!
