Leanne Griffey is the Orchestra Director at Kinard Core Knowledge Middle School, where she has taught since 2010. Prior to becoming a Mustang, Mrs. Griffey taught a variety of music classes in other public schools in Fort Collins as well as in Greeley, CO and Williamsburg, Virginia. She also teaches private violin, viola, and voice lessons. Leanne earned her Bachelor's of Music Education from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She served as Concertmaster of the Greeley Chamber Orchestra for 15 years and continues to perform with many professional Orchestras when her schedule allows. Some of the ensembles with whom she has performed include the Fort Collins Symphony, Cheyenne Symphony, Greeley Philharmonic, Longmont Symphony, and Richmond (VA) Symphony. Mrs. Griffey enjoys the opportunities to serve as Adjudicator, Clinician, and Guest Conductor for various festivals and honor ensembles. Outside of school, Leanne enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband, Kevin, and their daughter who is a student at Kansas State University. Their two cats, Quincy & Penelope, bring lots more laughs and love to their home. Leanne loves to ski, dance, hike, travel, and eat good food. Leanne considers herself very lucky to have been a PSD student and as such, to have learned from some of the finest music educators in the nation. Along with her mother and grandmother, these teachers shaped Leanne's passion for music and cultivated her desire to share it with the next generations of musicians!
