I am absolutely thrilled to be a Kinard Mustang and to be teaching Math 8 and Algebra 1 for a second year! I have taught middle school mathematics for 24 years and recently at Lincoln Middle, an IB World School. I have a M.Ed. in curriculum and instruction and a B.A. in mathematics with an emphasis in middle school education. My love and passion for working with middle school students has been a driving force in my career, and I cannot wait to bring my enthusiasm and dedication to this incredible community. Middle schoolers are at such a pivotal stage in their lives, and I am truly excited to guide and support them as they navigate this transformative journey.
When I am not teaching, I find immense joy in spending quality time outdoors with my husband and 16-year-old son. We love swimming, camping, fishing, playing games, sailing and exploring the national parks. I love the peaceful, relaxing, and calming effect that being near or in the water gives me. The sound of rain, or the sight of a flowing river, and the positive memories of the ocean gives me. I currently have a passion for learning to paint on canvases and how to use water colors.
