Important Information:

 

  • National Set A Good Example Day

 

  • There will be a Science O meeting on Wednesday 02/28 in room 526 where we will be making final preparations for box packing, t-shirt distribution, map & schedule distribution as well as a chance for any other Q & A before competition on March 2nd. 

 

  • The Kinard Dodgeball tournament is happening next week! Register a team or as a free agent by this Friday, March 1st to play! Scan the QR code on the posters in the hallway or visit tiny URL dot com slash Kinard dodgeball for more information!

 

  • Attention 7th graders  
    • Looking for another leadership opportunity to join?  Remember when you were a 6th grader and had those amazing WEB leaders help you? Now is your opportunity to become a WEB leader for our incoming 6th graders!  Applications are available in Student Services now.  Being a WEB leader will not interfere with any other leadership class, sports, or other 8th grade classes. Applications are due March 6th and can be turned into Student Services.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Young, Ms. Irvine or Mrs. Beecher. 

 

  • Congratulations to all the Math Counts members who competed at the chapter competition this weekend. Our team of Riley Wang, Ellie Wang, Neo Luo, and Erika Tang, won first place! Riley also placed first, overall in the competition. Neo placed third, Joseph Lee placed fourth, Angela Wang placed fifth and Yihan Jing placed sixth! Please congratulate all of our competitors and wish good luck to the ones headed to the state competition in a few short weeks.

 

  • “A big congratulations to Ella Bilbro, Owen McFarland, Addi Cooper, Evan Cooper, Mike LiPrandi, Alison Flail, Casey Sager, Aedan Bateman, Gabe Righes, Emmett Lignell, Sanjali Lam, Kara Bradshaw, Megan Rodgers, and Sadie Anderson for their performance with the CU Middle School Honor Band this weekend! They rehearsed with the best musicians in the state under the direction of Dr. Dominic Talanca from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and concluded with a concert in the beautiful Macky Auditorium on CU’s campus. This is the most students our band program has ever sent to the prestigious honor band, CONGRATULATIONS!”

 

Clubs:

  • Theater Club is from 3:10 - 4:10 pm in the Choir Room. 
  • Fitness Club is today from 3:15 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. in the Weight Room.
  • Baking Club is today from 3:15 pm - 4:15 pm in Room 300.
  • Math Counts will meet tomorrow.

 

Athletics:

  • The girls basketball teams will play Preston today.  The varsity and JV teams play here at home and those athletes are released at 2:30.  The C teams play at Preston and are released at 1:55.
