Important Information:
- Attention 6th and 7th graders: Your registration paperwork is due by this Thursday, February 5th. Honors applications are also due on Thursday, February 5th. Turn in all course selection materials to the Student Services Office. 8th graders, remember your registration forms for high school need to be completed and brought with you to school by Thursday, February 5th. You will meet with a counselor during that week to finish the registration process. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Young or Ms. Irvine.
- Hello Kinard community! The Student Social Justice Team invites you to join us in celebrating Black History Month this February. Every year, this month is dedicated nationally to honoring the achievements, culture, and contributions of African Americans throughout U.S. history and today. This year’s theme, “A Century of Black History Commemorations,” recognizes the 100‑year anniversary of the very first Black History Week in 1926. This theme honors a century of celebrating African American achievements, culture, and contributions, and highlights how Black History Month has grown into a national tradition that continues to educate, inspire, and strengthen communities.
This month, look around the halls for Black History Month recognitions and take a tour through the interactive display in Kinard's media center to learn about inspiring Black leaders, influential artists and creators. Come learn about and discover stories that celebrate the important contributions of African Americans. Also, check out award winning novels by notable Black authors.
During Black history Month, let's take this opportunity to learn from inspiring figures of the past and present and to celebrate the diversity that strengthens our community.

- MathCounts has been cancelled today and will return next week
- Fitness Club meets tomorrow after school from 3:15 to 4:00 in the Fitness Room by the small gym
- Give Next meets tomorrow from 3:15 to 4:00 in Mrs. Houston’s classroom room 509
- Science Bowl meets tomorrow from 3:15 to 4:15 in Ms. Eitsert’s room 313
- Pokemon Club meets tomorrow from 3:15 to 4:15 in Mrs. Griffey’s room 710
- Theater Club with Mr. Wheeler meets tomorrow after school from 3:15 to 4:15
Athletic
- The JV and Varsity Girls Basketball teams had impressive wins over Timnath yesterday at home. Varsity won 21-16 and JV claimed a 28-22 victory. C and D teams traveled to Timnath and split their outcomes. C dominated 37-8 and D came up a little bit short. Great job! Varsity/JV plays Blevins tomorrow, and C/D Teams play Lesher.
