Important Information:

  • National Strawberry Day

     
  • Kinard’s Character Challenge:
    • How do you balance a desire to compete and win with the important trait of leading with integrity and honesty? You have many opportunities every day at school to practice this skill! Whether it is playing a game like gaga ball at lunch, participating in a sport, or playing a game in one of your classes, make sure you are practicing leading with character first.
    • Challenge: When working with others or playing a game, follow the rules, participate with honesty, show your integrity, and demonstrate your amazing Kinard character!

 

  • Prizes for rating your date with a book?  YES!  Two lucky students were drawn for the many “Rate Your Date”  cards to win a super fabulous prize!   Will Madison Hamilton and Adarsh Gudur please come to the media center now to pick up your winnings!

 

  • Attention Science Olympians!!! The competition schedule for this Saturday is posted outside of Mr. McGonagil’s classroom. Please familiarize yourself with your schedule so you can be in the right place at the right time. Final pack up will be this Thursday night for Build events and Friday for everyone else.  Please plan accordingly. If you have any questions, please ask your coaches this week.

 

  • Have you signed up for track and field yet? Mr. Benson would love to have you as part of the team. Look for a personal email sent to you with a link for how to sign up, or go to the track and field website for more information.
  • One of the spring sports that Kinard offers is Unified Basketball.  This is a team that unites athletes and partners to enjoy the game of basketball and engage in a team experience while working with students with disabilities.  Our season runs from April 3rd to May 3rd and we have 3 practices a week. Applications are available in Student Services and are due by Tuesday, March 7th. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Irvine. 





 

 Clubs:

  • Fitness club is after school today in the small gym from 3:15-4pm.
  • Theatre Club will need to move our MONDAY Feb 27 rehearsals to WEDNESDAY Mar 1.
  • Math Counts and Running club are tomorrow.

 

Athletics:

  • Our basketball teams play Timnath today!  The varsity and jv teams will be traveling to Timnath and will be released at 1:45.  Our C team will be playing at home and will be released from class at 2:30.  Let’s GO Mustangs!!
  • Are you interested in trying out for the Kinard golf team?  An informational meeting will be held this Friday in the foods room during ELO.  If you are a boy or a girl in 6th, 7th or 8th grade (so everyone!) that wants to play golf at Kinard ATTEND the meeting on Friday.

 

  • The Kinard softball season starts with softball camp NEXT Monday!  If you want to join the softball team, plan to come out next week after school from 3:30-5:30 each day to check out softball here at Kinard!  In order to participate you will need to have registered on sportsengine and have a current athletic physical on file.  To start the regular season you will need those two things PLUS have paid your athletic fee.  See Mrs. Arnold with questions.
