About Me

Cecilia Bonertz is the Academic Dean and a former math teacher at Kinard Core Knowledge Middle School. She has been a Mustang for 17 years and an educator for 22 years. Before coming to Kinard, Cecilia’s professional teaching experience started in 4th grade at Shepardson Elementary School. Prior to being an educator, Cecilia was a CPA and financial controller for a publishing company in Loveland. Cecilia received her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Accountancy from the University of Denver. She also earned a Master’s Degree from the University of Northern Colorado in Elementary Education, is licensed to teach math at the middle school level, and completed the administrative licensure program at Colorado State University.

Outside of school, Cecilia enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She has two children, Adam and Marissa, who both graduated from the University of Alabama and currently live in Uganda and Connecticut.  She also has a beautiful daughter-in-law, Lauren, and two amazing grand babies, Lorelai and Elijah! If you are wondering about why Alabama, check out their academic scholarship opportunities! If you follow college football, you'll also understand a bit more about why two kids from a football loving family would choose Alabama. Roll Tide! When Cecilia is not teaching, she is spending time with friends, family, reading, listening to music, skiing, traveling or watching football. She is a life-long Broncos fan.

Cecilia loves being an educator because it gives her the opportunity to learn something new every day. She believes that a day with learning, love, and laughter is a day worth living. Spending time with students, teachers, and parents who also value learning tops her list of favorite things to do!
