Important Information:

  • Your weekly character challenge is here!  Taking risks can be scary:  however, taking reasonable risks is part of life.  Applying for a new class, trying a new hobby or making a new friend can feel risky but also can have great rewards.  And healthy risk taking can help you build confidence, responsibility, social skills and decision-making abilities.

Challenge:  Take a healthy risk and step out of your comfort zone in some way this week.  You could try choosing a new partner to work with in class, asking a question when you aren’t’ sure about something new you’re learning or sitting by some one that you haven’t met before at lunch.  Put yourself out there and see how it helps you to learn and grow!

  • Our Kinard National Junior Honor Society fundraiser for the students impacted by the Marshall fires at Monarch High School was a HUGE success! They have filled up the sign up for backpacks and calculators already!  If you and your family signed up to donate, please drop those donations in the box outside of the main office or in room 505.  Last day for donations to be turned in is THIS Thursday.  Please see Mrs. Hergenreder or Mrs. Arnold with questions.

Clubs:

  • Math Counts meets at 3:15 in the Media Center.

  • Fly tying club meets in room 414 at 3:20.

Sports:

  • Exciting news from the world of sports here at Kinard!  We now have a self-service athletics kiosk in the Media Center!  You will find all the forms and information needed at this kiosk to help you get signed up and ready to participate in any sport here at Kinard.  Currently, we are registering for golf, softball and track so if you are interested in any of those sports you need to make certain you are registered on SportsEngine, have paid your athletic fee on SchoolPay or with a check and have a current physical on file.  Questions?  See Mrs. Arnold!

  • Our girls basketball teams last Wednesday were again victorious at all levels against CLP.

8th grade varsity won 50-4 and JV won 27-5.  Everyone on the team scored and sliced through their defense with ease. 7th grade came back to win 16-15 and the JV dominated by 18 points.  Congratulations!

  • Our Wrestlers take on Webber today after school at Webber.  Wrestling athletes are released at 2:00.

Menu:

  • Today for lunch we are serving chicken & waffles, chef salad or in the hot sandwich line there will be cheeseburger, hamburger, chicken sandwich or spicy chicken sandwich. Tomorrow for breakfast we will serve whole grain cinnamon toast crunch.
