Important Information:

  • If you have ever been skiing, you know about avalanche warnings.  We have started our own avalanche here at Kinard, this is an Avalanche of Appreciation.  If you have something in your life you appreciate, we want to hear about it.  Each of your teachers have the cards to fill out.  When you've completed a card, drop it off in Student Services and we will post it on our avalanche wall outside the 7th grade art room.  Stop by and take a look at the ones accumulating already!!
  • Attention 8th Graders - Thursday, February 6th you will be meeting with your high school counselor to turn in registration forms.  Remember to have them complete with signatures, 80 credits and with you on Thursday.  If you are not going to be here on Thursday, please turn them in ahead of time to your Kinard counselor, Ms. Irvine or Mrs. Young.  

Clubs:

  • The GSA Club will have their first meeting today, Tuesday from 3:15-4:00 PM in Room 300. GSA, or Genders and Sexualities Alliance Club, is a place to explore your identity, find self-acceptance, and find acceptance in a community.  All genders and sexualities are welcome, along with all who are questioning, and all who support those who are exploring their gender or sexuality. GSA is a safe space for all! See Mrs. Young if you have questions.
  • MathCounts meets today after school from 3:15 to 4:00 in the Media Center.
  • Stem Club meets tomorrow after school from 3:15 to 4:00 in Mrs. Ashe’s room (315).
  • Science Bowl meets tomorrow after school from 3:15 to 4:30 in Ms. Eitsert’s room (313).
  • The Give Next Club meets tomorrow after school from 3:15 to 4:00 in the Media Center.
  • The Coding Club meets tomorrow after school from 3:15 to 4:00 in Mrs. Shannon’s room (308).
  • Fitness Club meets tomorrow after school from 3:15 to 4:00 in the Fitness Center
  • Social Justice Service Learning Team meets tomorrow during ELO at 2:35 in the Media Center.
  • Kinard Student Wellness Team with Mr. Benson meets tomorrow during ELO at 2:35 in the cafeteria.
  • Theater Club has been cancelled on Wednesday and Thursday of this week and will resume as normal next week.

 

Athletics:

  • All four Girls Basketball Teams were in action last night against Timnath.  Varsity won 27-15 holding the Cubs to just 2 points the entire 2nd half!  C1 won by 4 at home in a scrappy game.  Unfortunately, the JV team came up short in overtime and C2 lost by 1.  All teams left it all on the court.  They have their next game tomorrow against Blevins with C Teams playing away and Varsity/JV playing here at 3:30.  Good Luck, Girls!
