Welcome to 8th grade English! I'm very excited to be your teacher this year. I love sharing my passion for reading and writing with my students. While we'll explore a variety of texts on our reading list, I also believe in the importance of book choice, book-talk, and book-time, all to help you love and grow as readers and writers.
We'll have opportunities for silent reading where you can bring in your own books or magazines or choose from our classroom library. This helps create a space where we can all enjoy reading together. Additionally, you'll keep a writer's notebook, a place to capture your thoughts, dreams, observations, and your love of writing. This notebook can become a trusted companion as you develop your skills and express yourself. Let's make this a great year full of reading, writing, and discovery!
