Daily Announcements
Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024
Important Information:
- “April is Arab American Heritage Month, a time to celebrate the rich cultural heritage and contributions of Arab Americans to the United States. With about 3.7 million Americans having ancestral ties to 22 countries across the Middle East and North Africa, including Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, and many more, this month provides an opportunity to acknowledge the diverse tapestry of our nation. Among these individuals are many of our PSD students and staff. Let's take a moment during this month to honor the achievements and ongoing impact of Arab Americans on our society. Whether it's in politics, science, arts, or any other field, their contributions are significant and worthy of recognition.
- April is designated as the awareness month for several other groups and purposes. We will share more of these when we return to our normal announcement time after CMAS testing is complete.”
- Hey students, we will begin our CMAS assessments tomorrow! Do you know that your parents likely considered our school’s successful test results when making the decision for you to attend Kinard? Do you know that test-taking skills will be important throughout your life, and practicing test-taking is part of how you will get better at these skills? Do you know your school is proud of you and excited to see your dedicated efforts when taking CMAS?
- Here are several important tasks to help you get ready to show what you know!
- First, if you haven’t already, please ask your ELO teacher today for instructions about checking for the correct version of TestNAV. We will also be doing a school-wide computer restart today during ELO.
- Next, if you have not yet received a detailed schedule of testing and class times and had a chance to ask your teacher questions about a typical testing day, please check-in with your ELO teacher.
- Finally, please check your CMAS room assignment using the posters that are in the upstairs locker bays and the cafeteria.
- For testing beginning tomorrow, it is VERY IMPORTANT that you bring your fully charged laptop and charging cord to school for all CMAS test days. If you would like to read after completing your test, please also bring a physical book because no electronic devices are allowed after testing sessions. On CMAS days, you will report directly to your CMAS classroom each morning. If you have any questions, see Ms. Bonertz in the main office. We appreciate your hard work and we know you all will rock the CMAS tests!
