Mrs. Gorely is excited to be a Kinard Mustang! While this is her first year as a Math 6 teacher at Kinard, she has been around the school for the last seven years. Mrs. Gorely brings joy and passion to education, whether it's as a music coach, math tutor, cross-country coach, or classroom teacher. Her philosophy of education is that all students can and should achieve a high level of learning and that mistakes are an important part of the learning process. Mrs. Gorely's teaching background includes teaching orchestra and choir at Frontier Academy Middle High School for four years as well as owning and teaching through the Gorely Music Studio for 20+ years.
As a Fort Collins High School graduate, Mrs. Gorely realized she wanted to make Colorado her home. She graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of music in piano performance from the University of Northern Colorado. During this time she realized that she loved teaching, so she got her master's degree in music education.
Outside of teaching, Mrs. Gorely loves spending time with her husband, Alek, and three children, Dmitri, Anya, and Leo. She loves being outside, celebrating life by hiking, running, biking and camping! She is ready to learn alongside her math students this year!
