Important Information:

  • While this is an exciting and festive time of year it can also be stressful and very busy.  You many have summatives in class, after school events and family commitments.  It is important to be able to manager your time, prioritize your most urgent needs, and know that it is ok to take a break and rest when needed.

Challenge:  Finish this last week of the first semester strong?  Demonstrate grit and resilience and know that your character is revealed through adversity and challenge.

  • We love seeing double…or triple…or more with your matching outfits on Twin Day…great job, Mustangs! Our spirit week will continue tomorrow with Ugly Sweater Day.  Dress in ugly holiday attire for a fun end-of-semester celebration!

  • Our Read-a-thon starts this Saturday!  The Kinard Winter Read-a-Thon will run December 18th -January 3rd! For every one hour you read over the winter break, you can enter your name in a drawing to win fun prizes once returning to school! All entries are due in the Media Center Friday, January 7th by the end of the school day. The winners will be announced during the morning announcements on Monday, January 10th. Cozy up with a great book and win prizes!

  • Please stop by our lost and found to claim any items that you have left here at school.  Jackets, lunch boxes, water bottles…they are all looking to be claimed!   All items not claimed by this Friday will be donated. 

  • Attention Concert Orchestra members: Remember that we have a combined rehearsal today during ELO! Please report directly to the Band room for ELO.

Sports:

  • Our boys’ basketball teams plays Lesher today.  Our 7th grade athletes will be dismissed at 2:00. Our 8th grade athletes will be dismissed at 2:30.  We would love to see YOU stay after school and cheer on our 8th grade team to victory!  Go Mustangs!

  • Attention 7th and 8th graders!  Are you looking to play girls basketball or be on the wrestling team in January?  Yes, basketball for 7th and 8th grade girls as well as 7th and 8th grade wrestling starts right after the holiday break.  In order to participate you need a current physical on file with Mrs. Arnold.  Please make plans to stop by the Media Center this week to verify that you have a current physical. 

Clubs:

  • Quilling Club meets in room 311 at 3:15.

  • Magic Act Club meets today in Ms. Bales room from 3:20-4:15. 

  • Theatre Club meets in the media center from 3:15-4:15

  • Fitness Club meets in the weight room from 3:15-4:00.

Menu:

  • Today for lunch we are serving chicken drumsticks, club wrap or chicken patty sandwich.  For breakfast we will be serving a breakfast round.
