Important Information:
- Kinard’s Character Challenge:
- At this time of year, as we get busy with the hustle of the season and our schedules get more filled, it can be easy to get overwhelmed or forget about all the great things in our lives. So, it is healthy to take a moment to pause and reflect on what we are grateful for and to whom we can share our thanks. As Oprah Winfrey says, “Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.”
- Challenge: Take a moment to show your gratitude or express your appreciation to someone at school.
- Your Kinard book fair is HERE! Come down to your media center and check out what all the book fair has to offer. We are open each day until 4pm, even during lunch. Tomorrow and Wednesday we open at 7:30 in the morning and welcome you to bring family to shop with you! Also, if you get caught reading you can win a $20 Scholastic book fair gift card!
- What do you call a running turkey? Fast food! This year NJHS is sponsoring the Turkey Round Up. This is a district wide event to help raise food for the holidays and money to continue to feed those in need. We are accepting frozen turkeys, hams, chickens, and tofurkey donations on Thursday, November 17th at 7:45-8:15 am in front of the Kinard. Thank you for donating and making a difference in our community!
- On Saturday four Robotics teams from Kinard competed in the regional qualifier for First Lego League. They were judged in five categories: Core Values, Community Innovation Project, Robot engineering, Robot Game and Gracious Professionalism.
- We had Three teams score in the top three of 24 teams in the following categories:
- Team 29140 scored 1st in Robot Engineering
- Team 12848 2nd in Core values
- Team 29140 3rd in Robot Game
- Team 29140, the Electric Emperors are going to State and will compete December 10th at UC Denver.
- Congratulations to all the students and thank you to coach Shawnda Horn and to all the people who volunteered countless hours to help Kinard Robotics be the successful program it is today!
