Important Information:
- Pop and Frozen Fridays is here today! Stop by the Mustang Corral after school for something cold, something sweet, or something buttery. We accept cash, cards, and ApplePay, so stop on by!
- Calling all Mustang Scientists! Science Olympiad has an optional parent information meeting on September 17th at 6:00 in the Kinard Media Center. Students who want to participate in Science Olympiad are also welcome to attend. Registration opens on September 17th. You can get a form at the information meeting or in Ms. Blumberg’s Room 313. If you have any questions, see Ms. Blumberg in Room 313.
- Today is Restart Friday! Regular and specialty ELO Teachers, please remind your students to restart their laptops today to refresh connections and process updates. And don’t forget to also restart your classroom spare laptop. Thank you for helping to keep our laptops in tip-top shape!
Clubs:
- If you love any kind of art, you should consider joining our student-led Pixels and Pencils Club! Pixels and Pencils is a club where you can do tons of different kinds of art and socialize with your friends. We will meet on Fridays, starting today from 3:15 to 4:00 in room number 509, Mrs. Houston’s room. For more details, talk to our student sponsors Ivy Cytrynowicz, Cole Rustman, or Mason Oxton or come to our first meeting tomorrow!
- Animal Lovers Alliance meets on Monday from 3:15 to 4:00 in the small gym
- Hey Kinard! Do you want a chance to help create a comic? Well you are in luck! The student-led club, Comic Bookers will meet every Tuesday starting next week, September 15th from 3:15-4:15 in Mr. Graham’s room 409. Hope to see you there!

Special announcement (Read by Mrs. Matkin): We want to acknowledge that today marks the 25th anniversary of 9/11. For students in school, 9/11 is no longer an experience lived but history that is learned. The nation changed forever on September 11, 2001. Terrorist attacks causing tragic loss of life at the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in sight of the nation’s capital, and a quiet field in southern Pennsylvania led to conversations and reflection on American identity, patriotism, security, and service that resonate today. For months following September 11, 2001, people came together to grieve family, friends, and strangers. More than 20 years later, we still do. Sometimes called “Patriots Day” or “Day of Remembrance”, September 11 has become an annual day for many Americans to remember, reflect, honor, and mourn. Please join me in a moment of silence….
Today as we say the pledge together, please reflect on the significance of the day in United States history.
