  • Congratulations to 7th grader Ronan Jones for winning 2nd place in the Elks Americanism Essay Contest in which he responded to the question, "What does patriotism mean to me?" He won an engraved plaque and a check for $75! His essay will move on to the State competition and the National Competition where he has the chance to win $1,000. Great job, Ronan! We're all rooting for you!
  • 2-4-6-8, Who Do We Appreciate? Our Classified Staff are a critical part of our school community. This group involves staff who:
  • directly work with students in the classroom,
  • help students with computers,
  • run the media center,
  • help with our athletic programs,
  • greet students and families in the front office and student services,
  • communicate with families about attendance,
  • help students when they are not feeling well or are injured,
  • safely help our students arrive at school daily as they monitor the crosswalks,
  • help keep our school clean,
  • help keep our students fed,
  • and do a lot of other behind the scenes work that is often invisible to those they serve.

Hopefully, we voice our appreciation to these staff members regularly, but we will also celebrate the contributions they make to our school this week during Classified Appreciation Week. Please help us show our classified staff some love and appreciation this week by sharing a smile and thanking them specifically for the work they do that makes Kinard a better place!
