Welcome to Melissa Perricone's webpage, she is super excited to be on this adventure with you! Melissa graduated from Virginia Tech with dual degrees in Animal Sciences and Agricultural Economics. After college, Melissa worked at the New England Zoo in Boston, MA as a animal care keeper working with various animals such as Amur Leopards, Muntjac Deer and (her favorite) the North American Porcupine. Melissa then moved out to Colorado and worked for the Department of Agriculture. After deciding cubicle life was not for her, she went back to school to get her Master's in Extension and teaching degree from Colorado State University. Melissa began her teaching career in 2009 and has taught at the high school and middle school levels.
When not in the classroom, Melissa loves being outside in nature and hiking around the Fort Collins and Front Range area. You may see her running and training around the town of Wellington where she lives with her husband Dave and chocolate lab Maggie. Melissa also enjoys reading, painting, and spending time with her family and friends.
