Ben Furtner is beginning his ninth year at Kinard Core Knowledge Middle School, but first teaching physical education and health. Before working at Kinard, Ben was a sports performance coach in Florida at a facility called Cooper Sports Performance. This was his first experience working with kids of all ages and he found out he loved it. Ben graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Health and Exercise Science and a master's degree in elementary education. Outside of school, Ben enjoys a variety of activities, most of them dealing with the outdoors. He is an avid skier and loves the winter and the snow. Ben also enjoys watching and playing baseball and football. The Colorado Rockies and the Denver Broncos are Ben’s favorite sports teams. When he is not outside playing sports, Ben enjoys reading in his downtime and loves going to the gym.
