- This Sunday, September 15 kicks off National Hispanic Heritage Month, coinciding with the Independence anniversaries of several Latin American countries, including El Salvador, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Honduras. Mexico and Chile also commemorate their independence on September 16 and September 18. The purpose of National Hispanic Heritage Month is to celebrate the contributions, heritage, and culture of Hispanic and Latino Americans. The theme for 2024 is "Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together," which reflects the spirit of innovation, resilience, and unity that defines the Hispanic experience.
- Do you have a passion for social justice, representation, and inclusion? Would you like to be part of a student team who helps us to recognize significant cultural and national observances by writing and reading announcements like the one you just heard about Hispanic Heritage Month? Then see Mrs. Grigg to sign up to be part of the social justice student announcement team. Mrs. Grigg’s office is #306- in the downstairs 6th grade pod near the Media Center.
