Important Information:

  • National Vietnam War Veterans Day
    • National Vietnam War Veterans Day on March 29 honors the men and women who served and sacrificed during the longest conflict in United States history.

  • In the Christian faith, today is known as Good Friday, which commemorates the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ on the Friday before Easter. Known as Holy Friday in Eastern Orthodox Christianity. Sunday is Easter, or Pascha in Eastern Christianity. It celebrates the resurrection of Jesus.

  • Sunday is also known as Cesar Chavez Day. The day celebrates the birth, life, and legacy of Mexican American farm worker, labor leader, and activist Cesar Chavez.  As a co-founder of the United Farm Workers, Mr. Chavez dedicated his life to improving the plight of agricultural workers through community activism and advocacy.  His motto, “Si se puede!” (“Yes, it can be done!”), transcends time and can be applied to any and all movements. His life serves as an example that when people work together for the betterment of all, great things can be achieved.

  • Sunday, March 31 also marks Transgender Day of Visibility, an internationally recognized awareness day every March 31st to celebrate transgender and nonbinary people while bringing awareness to the discrimination and violence the community faces. The key to TDOV is in the name – visibility. Multiple positive, accurate representations of transgender and nonbinary people provide crucial visibility for this community, which helps those within the community feel seen while helping others broaden their understanding of transgender identities and how to be increasingly supportive allies.

  • Be sure to check the LOST & FOUND before the end of the day today as everything is being donated.
