Important Information:

  • Our Kinard Science Olympians rocked it at the regional competition this weekend! With more students than ever, we had four teams compete. Our gold team placed second out of 33 competing teams, only 20 points behind the first place winner. The blue team placed fifth, the red team was 14th, and team Morty placed 21st. The gold team, and likely the blue team, will be headed to the state competition on April 5. Many students on all four teams earned medals in their events! All their hard work and dedication definitely paid off. Join us in congratulating all of our Science Olympian students and our Science Olympian staff coordinator, Mrs. Murphy!
  • Hello Kinard community! Ramadan began February 28 on Friday evening and continues through Sunday evening, March 30.  Ramadan is an Islamic holiday observed worldwide as a holy month of fasting from dawn to sunset with a focus on prayer, self-reflection, and community. This sacred time emphasizes self-discipline, gratitude, and empathy.  Let's please be mindful of the many people in our community who practice Ramadan.  There are many ways to be supportive such as being mindful to create activities in the classroom that are not food-related and offering space to students as needed who are fasting during lunchtime.

For more information about Ramadan, teachers are invited to share the links in today's posted morning announcements.
