Matt Raugewitz is a sixth grade math teacher at Kinard. This is Matt's fourteenth year as a Mustang. He is starting his thirty-sixth year in education. Matt loves being a part of the tradition of continuing excellence at Kinard. Matt earned his Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. He also earned a Masters degree is Educational Leadership from Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas. Matt has taught in self-contained classrooms at the fifth and sixth grade levels as well as math at the sixth and seventh grade levels. Outside of school, Matt loves all the time he can spend with his wife, Tania, his daughter, Sophie and Jack, both students at CSU this year.....Go Rams!!!!, (as well dogs Millie and Tillie, and cats, Snyper and Melon. Matt's family enjoys time at the lake and pool, golf, reading, bike riding, hiking, and watching sports, (ok, maybe that one is just Matt, but hope springs eternal for the kids also). Go Chiefs, Irish, Royals, and Jayhawks!. Matt feels like he was predestined to become a teacher due to the fact that education is the "family business". He loves the experience of fostering relationships with students, having them extend their learning, and becoming life long learners!
