Important Information:
- Thanks to all of those who auditioned for the Talent Show on Monday and to all those who will audition today after school. After this afternoon’s auditions, a final list of performers in the show will be put together and posted on the Talent Show website on Friday afternoon. We are grateful to all of the awesome Mustangs who showed us their stuff and look forward to a great show on October 21st.
- Thanks for supporting CANS around the oval! Thursday will be our next collection day. It will also be a bonus day - double dollar day, which means every dollar you donate counts for twice its points. Bring all donations to your first period class tomorrow. Donating helps out food-insecure families and the food bank a lot. Thank you for supporting those in need!
- Attention all Philharmonia, Honors, and Symphonic Band students. Please come pick up your concert uniform in the music area either during ELO today or right after school. All concert attire must be taken home today!
We’d like to take a moment to share that today, October 1st, at sundown and through tomorrow evening is Yom Kippur [say: "Yohm kee-POOR"] — an important holiday in the Jewish faith. It’s known as the Day of Atonement and is considered one of the holiest days of the year.
Yom Kippur is a time for reflection, prayer, and thinking about how we can be our best selves. Many people who observe this holiday fast for 25 hours — from sundown to nightfall the next day — as a way to focus on making things right and starting fresh.
To all in our school community who are observing Yom Kippur, we recognize and support this time of reflection and spiritual growth.
Clubs:
- Fitness Club meets today after school from 3:15 to 4:00 in the Fitness Room by the small gym
- Give Next meets today from 3:15 to 4:00 in Mrs. Houston’s classroom (Rm 509)
- Science Bowl meets today from 3:15 to 4:15 in Ms. Eitsert’s room (313)
- Social Justice Learning Team meets today during ELO in the Media Center
- Dungeons and Dragons Club meets tomorrow from 3:15 to 4:20 in Mr. Costello’s Room (416)
- Our next NJHS meeting is Monday, October 6th at 7:20 am in the media center. Please bring your scissors as we will be making dog and cat toys for the Humane Society. Tee shirts will be provided.
Athletics:
- For the fourth year in a row our Girls Tennis Team is the district champion! Kinard won first place in 4 lines and second place in 2 lines. Congratulations Girls!
- Our Varsity Football Team won a massive game against Lesher yesterday afternoon 8-6. Our JV Team wasn’t able to get the win, but they battled hard.
- Girls Volleyball have games today against Lincoln. Varsity/JV play here at Kinard, release players at 2:30, game starts at 3:30. C/D Teams play their final match at Lincoln this afternoon, release players at 1:25, load bus at 1:40. Good luck girls!
