Important Information:

  • Today is double dollar day for CANS around the Oval. It will end this Thursday, October 13. You can bring canned goods, nonperishable items, cash/coins, or checks. You can also donate to school pay. You can bring your donations to your first-period class.

 

  • Tomorrow Oct. 12th is Walk and Roll to school day!! Instead of riding in a car, can you find a way to walk, ride your bike, scooter, etc. Find Morty the Mustang in front of the school tomorrow and enter the raffle to win cool prizes.

 

  • “Hey Mustangs!  The Kinard Entrepreneurship classes will be selling a variety of products at the table under the balcony during lunches, starting on even days. The holidays are right around the corner, and many of their products will make excellent gifts. Products are hand-made right here at school. Here are a few examples of what you can buy – custom scented Fluffy Soaps, Locker Magnets and Keychains, Crocheted Crafts and Plushes, Buttons, Stickers, Cool, Creative Candles, VALID Bracelets and Necklaces and more! All of the profits go to Give Next this year. See the Entrepreneurship sales staff during the first ten minutes of Even day lunches to order your items!”

 

  • November is almost here and with that, brings a fun opportunity for creative writers! NaNoWriMo, also known as National Novel Writing Month, is a chance to put your creative writing to the test. The challenge: draft an entire novel in just one month.
    • Our first meeting is in Mr. Yacobucci's room 416, from 3:15-4:00 on Wednesday, October 26th, and will help you get set up to participate for the month of November. We will meet at this same time and place every Wednesday in November as well.  Find Mr. Yacobucci if you have any questions.  LET THE WRITING BEGIN!

 

  • You may have noticed college signs now displayed by staff in classrooms and offices.  Ask them some more in-depth questions like; what did they enjoy about that school? and how did they decide to attend that school? 
    •  Don’t forget, tomorrow is College Colors day so express your loyalty and interests tomorrow. 



Clubs:

  • There is NO MathCounts today after school.
  • Fitness Club is tomorrow after school until 4pm in the Small Gym.
  • For all students interested in participating in Science Olympiad this year -  We will have our second meeting in Mr. McGonagil’s room tomorrow Wednesday, October 12th, during ELO. We will get information on this year’s event schedule and talk about the practice schedule.
    • This is a very important meeting! Please plan on attending! If you cannot, please let Mr. McGonagil know and he will help you get the information you need.

 

Athletics:

  • Tonight is the night!  We are playing Timnath Middle High School for the Football district championships TONIGHT!  You do not want to miss it!  Come cheer on our football team at 6:30 tonight at the new stadium at Timnath Middle High.  Wear your Kinard gear and bring your LOUD cheering voices!
  • Our volleyball team is heading to the PSD championships tomorrow night!  Make plans to come to Fossil Ridge High School tomorrow night at 6:30 to see our Mustangs take on the Timnath Middle High School for district bragging rights AND the big trophy!  Let's go Mustangs!

  • Served for breakfast tomorrow is a whole grain chocolate chip waffle.
