Important Information:

  • National Chocolate SoufflĂ© Day

 

  • Attention Science Olympians!!!
    • The competition schedule for this Saturday is posted outside of Mr. McGonagil’s classroom. Please familiarize yourself with your schedule so you can be in the right place at the right time. Final pack up will be this Thursday night for Build events and Friday for everyone else.  Please plan accordingly. If you have any questions, please ask your coaches this week.

 

  • Attention 7th graders  
    • Looking for another leadership opportunity to join?  Remember when you were a 6th grader and had those amazing WEB leaders help you? Now is your opportunity to become a WEB leader for our incoming 6th graders!  Applications are available in Student Services now.  Being a WEB leader will not interfere with any other leadership classes. Applications are due March 7th If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Young, Ms. Irvine or Mrs. Beecher. 

 

  • Can you spell EXCITING? After achieving the status of a top speller in her grade, winning the Kinard Spelling Bee, placing in the top 11 at the Poudre School District Bee, and spelling 40/45 words correctly on the state qualifying test, seventh grader Devika Nair is 1 of only 24 students in the state of Colorado who has earned the opportunity to compete in the Colorado State Spelling Bee on March 11th. Congratulations and best of luck to Devika!

 

  • Congratulations to the C basketball teams on their big wins yesterday and keeping their unbeaten streak alive over Timnath!  The JV and Varsity teams left everything on the court but suffered defeats last night. Wellington is our last regular season game on Wednesday. 

Clubs:

  • Math Counts is today in the Media Center from 3:15pm-4:15pm.
  • Running club is also today after school outside the gym from 3:15-4pm.
  • Fitness Club and Theater Club are tomorrow.

 

Athletics:

  • Our wrestlers have a match against CLP today at CLP.  Those athletes are released at 1:25.  This is their last regular season match as they go into district championships on Saturday. 

 

  • One of the spring sports that Kinard offers is Unified Basketball.  This is a team that unites athletes and partners to enjoy the game of basketball and engage in a team experience while working with students with disabilities.  Our season runs from April 3rd to May 3rd and we have 3 practices a week. Applications are available in Student Services and are due by Tuesday, March 7th. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Irvine. 

 

  • Have you signed up for track and field yet? Mr. Benson would love to have you as part of the team. Look for a personal email sent to you with a link for how to sign up, or go to the track and field website for more information.

 

  • Are you interested in trying out for the Kinard golf team?  An informational meeting will be held this Friday in the foods room during ELO.  If you are a boy or a girl in 6th, 7th or 8th grade (so everyone!) that want to play golf at Kinard ATTEND the meeting on Friday.

 

  • The Kinard softball season starts with softball camp NEXT Monday!  If you want to join the softball team, plan to come out next week after school from 3:30-5:30 each day to check out softball here at Kinard!  In order to participate you will need to have registered on sportsengine and have a current athletic physical on file.  To start the regular season you will need those two things PLUS have paid your athletic fee.  See Mrs. Arnold with questions.
