About Me

Mandy Hergenreder is an 8th Grade Math Teacher at Kinard Core Knowledge Middle School. She has been a Mustang for 10 years, but has been an educator for 16 years. This will also be Mandy’s seventh year sponsoring National Junior Honor Society.  Before coming to Kinard, Mandy worked as a middle and high school teacher in Greeley and Loveland, CO. Before teaching, Mandy grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska where some of her family still lives.   Mandy received her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Secondary Education from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado. She also earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University in Portland, OR

Outside of school, Mandy enjoys spending time with  her family of 5, being outdoors, and cheering on her favorite sports teams.  She has three children ranging in ages from 8-19.  Emma, her youngest daughter at age 8, enjoys telling silly stories, swimming, and being a dare-devil. Emma is in 3rd grade this year.  Khloe is 11, she enjoys working with technology, swimming, and hanging out with friends. She is also looking forward to starting middle school this year.  Caleb is 19, he is interested in computers and will be a sophomore at CU this year, go Buffs!

Mandy became a teacher because she loves working with kids.  She chose to teach math because she understands math can be scary and wants to show young people math can be interesting, relevant, and fun at the same time.  She encourages children to be risk takers and to not be afraid of making mistakes.
