Kayla Murphy is one of the 8th grade Science teachers at Kinard Core Knowledge Middle School. She is new to Kinard and this will be her first year as a Mustang, however she has been an educator since 2019. Prior to coming to Kinard, Kayla's educator experience came from Moffat, Colorado.
Kayla grew up in Denver, Colorado and attended Metropolitan State University where she studied her undergraduate work in Biology. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. She recently graduated from University of Colorado-Denver with her Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Critical Pedagogy.
When Kayla is not in the classroom, she can be found enjoying the outdoors. She particularly loves hiking, skiing, paddle boarding with her family that consists of her two Huskies and her husband. When she is not participating in outdoor sports, Kayla also enjoys baking and cooking.
