Important Information:

• We had some exciting new developments at lunch last week with the return of gaga ball and 9 square in the air!  Games such as these, and many other opportunities through the school day present you with the opportunity to demonstrate sportsmanship and integrity.

Challenge:  When working with others or playing a game, follow the runs, participate with honestly, show your integrity and demonstrate your amazing Kinard character!

• Our weekly character challenge is here!  Author Cynthia Ozick is quoted as saying, “Two things remain irretrievable: time and a first impression.”  How do you make a first impression when welcoming a guest to your school?  How does your first interaction highlight your character and integrity?

Important Information:

• Attention 7th graders applying to be a WEB leader.  Your application is due Friday to Student Services. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Young, Ms. Irvine or Mrs. Bell.

• Attention 7th graders who applied for leadership classes in 8th grade- there will be a meeting during ELO tomorrow to talk about the process for being accepted into a leadership class. Please check in with your ELO and then come down to the gym. This meeting will only take 15 minutes tomorrow.

• Our weekly character challenge is here!  A servant leader is a person who sees leadership as an opportunity to serve others and not as a position of power or control.  Servant leaders can often be found behind the scenes contributing to making their community better through support, collaboration and lifting others up.

• Attention 7th graders!  If you are looking for another leadership opportunity being a WEB leader could be perfect for you!  WEB leaders are students that assist incoming 6th graders in their transition to school. Being a WEB leader does not interfere with other leadership classes. Applications are available in Student Services and are due March 11th. Services.  Unified PE is open to current 7th graders and Unified basketball is open to all grade levels.  Applications are due Friday. See Mr. Anaya, Ms. Irvine, or Mrs. Dietz with questions.
