Mr. Costello says hello, and he’s thrilled to join the staff and culture at Kinard! This is Mr. C’s 10th year teaching, his first nine encompassing everything ELA in grades 9-12, from intro to speech to AP Language and Composition. He holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Central Oklahoma, and he’s on pace to wrap up his master’s in education from Oklahoma State University this school year. Before teaching, Mr. C was a newspaper sports and features writer, and in college, he even interned with an NBA website in 2011-12, so he was in the Oklahoma City Thunder locker room interviewing the likes of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.
When not at school, Ryan is probably playing with Scarlet, his soccer- and basketball-playing, Taekwondo-kicking six-year-old daughter, who also likes to hike with her dad and rockstar of a mom, Roxanna. Rounding out the Costello household are two handsome ginger cats, Megs and Murphy, and an energetic two-year-old Shepard mix, Millie.
