Before you get too far into enjoying the blissful, carefree spirit of summertime, we wanted to share some dates and information to gear up for the 2026-27 school year. We will be in touch again in late July with more details for next school year!
Kinard Summer Office Hours
We will resume office hours for next school year on Monday, August 3, 2026. If you have any questions throughout the summer, please leave a message for our Office Manager, Cori Williams, at 970-488-5400, and she will return your call as soon as possible.
School Supplies for 2026-27
As we look ahead to next school year, we’ve posted grade-level supply lists for the 2026-27 school year on our website.
For added convenience, supply lists are also available on Amazon.com, facilitating an easy shopping experience for families who chose this option. Click here for the Amazon.com shopping guide and each grade level list.
August Registration
Please mark your calendars with the following registration options. While we also offer online registration, we recommend coming in person if possible. Especially for our incoming 6th graders and other students new to Kinard, this is an important transition event and gives us a chance to welcome students and answer questions!
The registration days and times listed below are “drop-in” times; students and parents are not required to be at registration for the full timeframe. However, we do request that a parent attends with their student. During registration, parents will be asked to update information, pay an annual contribution, drop off health and immunization records, register for athletics, and order yearbooks. Students will receive their class schedules and locker assignments, may access their lockers, and can “walk” their schedule to see where their classes are located. School staff will be available to answer questions about schedules, athletics, and life as a Mustang. We will not be taking student photos during registration or distributing school laptops until after school has started.
We will also be seeking parent volunteers to help us run our registration events. If you are interested in volunteering at Kinard and are available on any of the days listed below, stay tuned for a volunteer sign-up form and reminders about registering as a volunteer. This information will be coming out later this summer. Thank you!

Directions will be provided in late July to complete registration online on or after August 10th. The following tasks will need to be completed online.
Online registration will also require bringing in new or updated health information, notifying us of any changes in student’s information that can’t be updated online, and turning in athletic forms. These tasks can be completed from 7:30 - 2:30 on any day after August 10th, but should be completed before the first day of school. |
You may see a preliminary schedule for the 2026-2027 school year in Parent/StudentVUE sometime this summer. These schedules are not final, and they have previously always been hidden until after August registration. However, we believe the district may make them visible sometime earlier in the summer. There may be significant changes as we work through the process of finalizing schedules (i.e. balancing class sizes, ensuring students are in the right classes, etc.). Please do not become attached to any teachers or classes or call our counselors about schedules until after August registration on August 6 (7th and 8th grade) and August 7 (6th grade).
2026-27 Calendar and Schedule
School begins for 6th graders on August 18th and for 7th and 8th graders on August 19th. Our daily schedule is from 8:15 AM to 3:10 PM. Click here for the PSD 2026-27 student calendar.
Summer Safety
As we start summer break, we encourage caregivers to engage in conversations with children about staying safe this summer. For instance, we have seen an increased number of middle schoolers riding e-bikes, mini-bikes, and other electronic scooters. Even if your child doesn’t own an e-bike or mini-bike, they may be riding one that belongs to a friend. It is important to learn more about the ways in which we can keep riders safe. We encourage you to review this flyer from Fort Collins PD and Road Safe with information to keep our students, your children, safe.
Have a wonderful summer and we’ll see you in August!
