Daily Announcements

Tuesday, September 6, 2022

Important Information:

  • Students, This week, Kinard will begin the weekly Kinard Character Challenge.
    • The Kinard Character Challenge begins with a weekly challenge focus that will be shared during announcements at the beginning of the week. (For Example: Challenge: Demonstrate positivity and kindness no matter the situation.) Staff members will then be looking for students who are exhibiting the positive character behaviors (in the case, Positivity and Kindness) issued by the challenge and awarding students with a “Kinard Character in Action” card. Students will take their card(s) to the Media Center and place in the Character in Action Dropbox. At the end of each week, a few students’ names will be selected from the box and will be shared on Friday’s announcements. The student selected in the drawing will report to the office to claim a weekly prize.

  • Each day you and I get about 100 chances to choose whether to be proactive or reactive. Proactive people make choices based on values. They think before they act. They recognize they can’t control everything that happens to them, but they can control what they do about it. We can control two things: our attitude and our effort.
    • Challenge: Demonstrate positivity and kindness no matter the situation.

  • ATTENTION STUDENTS IN KINARD’S GIFTED AND TALENTED PROGRAM: On Friday, September 9, all students in Kinard’s GT Program will be meeting for lunch in the media center to kick off the year. This is a required meeting with Mrs. Grigg, Kinard’s GT Coordinator.  Please bring a sack lunch on Friday, and dessert will be provided. Look to receive your lunch pass on Wednesday and go straight to the media center on Friday with your lunch. Students will be doing fun activities as they learn about the awesome year ahead in GT!   Please see Mrs. Grigg in the GT office, room 306, downstairs orange pod, for any questions.  See you on September 9th!

  • Lunchroom Challenge - In order to continue our focus on a clean lunchroom and picking up after ourselves, Kindard is issuing another Lunchroom challenge.  The grade that does the best at leaving the lunchroom clean over the next two weeks will be celebrated with an Otter Pop Lunch.  That’s right.. The grade that does the best…everyone will receive an Otter Pop.
